School Report

The Cardiff Living team has established a close relationship with the two schools that sit within the catchment areas for both Captain’s View and Silvervale Park. Oakfield and Meadowlane primary schools have taken part in on-site and off-site activities and continued collaboration with both is vital to our ongoing community engagement in the local area.

Pupils from both schools recently took part in a hoarding design competition, creating character-driven posters inspired by Roald Dahl’s stories. The children responded with enthusiasm and creativity in equal measure and the winning designs are now proudly displayed on the hoardings on-site at Silvervale Park. The local schoolchildren were also encouraged to have a dig around on-site during a recent archaeology workshop conducted by our partners at the Glamorgan-Gwent Archaeological Trust (GGAT). Following a detailed safety briefing, GGAT talked pupils through their work to uncover archaeological finds and the pupils were given the opportunity to handle finds and learn more about the history of each uncovered object.
