The proposal is for seven Council bungalows for social rent. There will be a mix of one and two bedroom bungalows. They have been designed to be accessible and meet the needs of older people, with all accommodation on the ground floor. Each bungalow will have an off-street car parking space and there will be one additional space for visitors.
The street has been designed as a shared surface, where people and vehicles will share the road space on equal terms, to slow vehicles to a walking pace and give quality of life precedence over ease of traffic movement. The street will also have landscaping, trees and Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems to create a green and attractive place to live.
The proposal retains the trees and hedges along the back of the houses along Heol-Y-Felin. The bungalows will back onto these houses to improve security and, where there is a gap between the bungalows, there will be a secure 2.1m boundary fence.
The path to the rear of the houses along Cherrydale Road will be retained and improved, including a new 2.1m high boundary wall and railing. This will be secure and only accessible to the residents backing onto the path.
